In November, the NRA mocked the medical community for speaking out against gun violence, telling health-care providers to "stay in their lane." Of course, that tweet spectacularly backfired, inspiring thousands of physicians, nurses, therapists, medical professionals, and other concerned community members to advocate for commonsense gun violence prevention policies.

This year, as part of our annual luncheon, we're highlighting their stories: from counselors supporting patients through a mental health crisis, to pediatricians asking parents about guns in the home, to ER doctors desperately trying to repair bodies riddled with bullet holes.

The Alliance is pleased to welcome two incredible speakers for this event:

  • Fred Guttenberg: became an outspoken gun violence prevention advocate when his 14-year-old daughter Jaime was killed in the Parkland shooting last year; and
  • Dr. Joseph V. Sakran: an American trauma surgeon and gun violence survivor who founded the Twitter account @ThisIsOurLane

This is EVERYBODY'S lane. Won't you join us?
